Fran graduated Academic Dux in 1992 in Adelaide, South Australia with an Associate Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Her tertiary studies began with Speech Pathology until she discovered dentistry was her niche after working as a Dental Assistant.
A passion for Periodontology and appreciation of the importance of delivering a high level of care evolved from working in a number of highly regarded specialist and general practices in Melbourne and the UK over 28 years.
A love of learning drove her to further her studies to improve her knowledge in healthcare and in 2105 she completed a Bachelor of Health majoring in Aged Health. Fran recognizes the complex needs of older persons as an important part of the evolution of dental care and prides herself on delivering personalized, optimal attention to each and every person in her care.
Her ongoing professional development is currently in the fields of breathing and sleep disorders and orofacial myotherapy.
Her appreciation of the importance of her role as a Dental Hygienist inspired her to share her knowledge and experience, and she has worked as a clinical supervisor of students at the University of Melbourne Dental School and as a Lecturer of Dental Hygiene student at RMIT University at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital.
She brings with her wealth of experience a gentle, caring approach that has allowed her to enjoy really wonderful interactions with everyone she works with and cares for. A good sense of humour, a curious mind and great communication skills enable her to make a dental appointment a pleasant experience for even the most wary.
Anything else you would like to know, she will tell you. You can count on it.
